My Story

Hi, I'm Andy Bell, photographer.  I have lived on the Fylde coast all of my life and have a passion for photography, in particular, military aviation. I have been lucky to work for a large aircraft manufacturer where my passion developed and with award winning photographers in the company acting as willing mentors, I have learnt an enormous amount about myself and my style.

As I have matured as a photographer, I have discovered an eye for detail and so my photography style now leans more towards photojournalism in the world of aviation and events. This is a way of telling a story through a series of photographs, capturing the moment, as it happens, putting you the viewer in the heart of the action and providing an insight into activities and detail sometimes overlooked by the casual observer.

I am lucky to have photographed "Up Close and Personal" with some of the UK's top display teams including the Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Typhoon Display Team as well as many other visiting aircraft to my home airfield of Blackpool, documenting what it takes to prepare the teams and aircraft for the displays that thousands of on-lookers enjoy.
