Waterbird, Test and Evaluation Trials, Lake Windermere

A replica of the UK’s first hydro-aeroplane operating from a temporary hangar on the west shore of Windermere had to prove it complied with Light Aircraft Association requirements consisting of many fine tuning adjustments to get the balance for flight and water just right.
It then completed a formal flight test schedule culminating in a successful first flight.
